Bajaj Platina 100cc Review
Bajaj Platina 100cc was launched in April 2006 and crossed sales of 500,000 units within eight months of its launch. The bike is an entry level entry targeted at the middle class and daily commuters. It is pitched at a similar price and value scale as Bajaj discover 100 cc Dts-si, also part of company’s stable. The bike was introduced into the market as the cheapest bike of its segment that competed with Hero Honda.
Looks and Style
The style of the bike is in the league of Bajaj’s previous models Bajaj Wind and Bajaj CT 100. Bajaj Platina 100cc offers a good colour choice with six colour variants that includes Black Chrome, Black with Maroon Decals, Slate Grey, Silver, Cocktail Red and Long Beach Blue. The bike has a unique streak design side panels with a sleek rear panels having a fluid grab rail design. Bajaj Platina’s optoprism headlamp with clear lens blinkers and Graphite tint engine and silver coloured Alloy Wheel makes the look of the bike very impressive.
Performance
Bajaj Platina has a four stroke single cylinder air cooled engine. The capacity of the engine is 99.27cc that allows a maximum power of 8.2bhp @ 7500rpm and torque to the engine of 0.82kgm @4500rpm. The pickup is extremely strong and can travel uphill with a single rider on a third gear. The rear and front drum brakes are effective, while the kick start of engine works instantly. Even in cold condition the TRICS III (Throttle Responsive Ignition Control System) ignites instantaneously giving a rapid start to the engine.
