Bajaj XCD (Exceed) 135 DTS-Si Review
XCD (Exceed) 135 DTS-Si was launched on January 2009, in its 135 cc avatar. Bajaj has reported that more than 20,000 units of XCD 135 were sold in its first month of launch. The previous 125 cc version of XCD was discontinued by Bajaj on November 2009. The bike is dubbed as Pulsar-Junior by Bajaj fans. The three models of the bike has been introduced include the kick start, drum breaks and disc brake versions.
Looks and Style
The bike has been designed finely to make it look a better looking and a stronger version of the 100cc and 125cc counterparts. Some special graphics have been added to petrol tank and the back rail has been made to look slimmer. The build quality and looks are enhanced by digital speedometer, LED tail lamps, wider rear tyre and twin pilot lamps. The 135 cc variant features the same analog tachometer and digital speedometer as the Bajaj Discover 135 cc. Bajaj XCD 135 DTS-Si has launched the bike in five colour options of blue, red, black & green, black & blue and black & red.
Performance
The Bajaj XCD 135cc DTS-Si has a 4-stroke air cooled engine. The capacity of the engine is 134.6cc that allows a maximum power of 10.2 PS@7500 rpm and torque to the engine of 11.58 Nm @ 5000 rpm. The bike has 5 speed gear box and employs the ExhausTEC system to decrease the noise of the engine. The bike is equipped with auto choke, disc brakes and gas-filled Nitrox shock absorbers which help the bike keep in control. XCD 135cc DTS-Si can be truly blissful to cut across traffic snarls because of its easy handling. The seats are wide and comfortable putting less pressure on your already aching back. The bike picks up fast and in fifth gear it can gallop to the speed of 80 kmph in around 10 seconds but it takes time to go to 100 kmph, you are into a bumpy ride but the bike is most suitable for urbanites. But the greatest disadvantage of the ride in spite of the Nitrox suspension is the low-pressure rubber.
BharatBuy Conclusion
Bajaj XCD 135cc DTS-Si is aimed at the customers in the value segment looking for a sporty alternative. Although the bike does not sport great looks, which most of the hard core biker’s fancy, it does run on a sturdy engine that comes with an affordable price. |
