Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTS-i Review
Bajaj Pulsar is the first bike in India which came in direct competition with the Hero Honda CBZ, launching the classic versions of their Pulsar brands in 2001 which happen to be the first indigenous all-Indian bike. In 2009 Bajaj introduced the newer version Pulsar 150 DTS-i with digital twin spark ignition and till today Pulsar is one of the most sought after and largest selling bike in the 150cc segment.
Looks and Style
Pulsar 150 DTS-i comes in four colours similar to the newer pulsar product line, Silver, Blue, Red and Black. The styling is an enhanced version of the earlier pulsar 150cc, which includes added features like all black engines, aerodynamic tank flaps, wolf eyed headlamps, back-lit LCD digital speedo and twin slashed L.E.D tail lamp. This bike does have a head turning looks. The most noticeable feature of this bike is the tank, which give it a big bike feel, while the newer design of headlamps is also impressive.
Performance
The newer version is powered by a four stroke, DTS-i, air cooled engine having a capacity of 149.01 cc. Maximum power produced by the bike is 14.09 PS at an early 8500 rpm with the peak torque output of 12.76 Nm zipping at 6500 rpm. The Pulsar engine remains relatively smooth but when pushed hard it does lose some of its smoothness. Also at low speed and at low momentum the Pulsar engine does feel a bit lumpy. The pickup of the bike is really good, as was seen in the predecessor. Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTS-i also offers good balance and control, thanks to its plush shock absorbers.
BharatBuy Conclusion
The bike is still one of the best in the 150cc segment. Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTS-i still is one of the fastest of the lot, with a sturdy body backed by a strong thrust. The machine also comes with inclusion of all DC electrical system which ensures constant and well illuminated roads, while the newer version continues to deliver a good mileage. |
